The collection · Lubricants
Lubricant is the least glamorous purchase in the boutique and the one that changes everything. The right formula removes friction, protects sensitive skin and lets a toy feel the way its designer intended. This shelf holds six considered options—two water-based, three silicone-based and one water-based hybrid—from Sliquid, pjur and System JO, each with its compatibility stated plainly.
The deciding question is what the lubricant will touch. With silicone toys, water-based is the safe rule; silicone-based formulas can damage silicone surfaces and belong with glass, steel or skin. Water-based rinses away with water and suits everyday rituals. Silicone-based lasts through long evenings and water play but asks for soap at cleanup. The hybrid splits the difference—longer glide than water alone, easier cleanup than pure silicone—and both subpages below explain their family in full.
The ritual
Apply more than you think you need, earlier than you think you need it. Lubricant works best as part of the ritual rather than a rescue: warm a little between your palms, begin generously, and reapply water-based formulas with a few drops of water or fresh gel when they dry. If anything stings, stop, rinse and switch formulas—comfort is the entire point, and the journal's lubricant guide walks through choosing without guesswork.
Care & compatibility
Store bottles upright, capped and away from heat. Check each bottle's own directions for use with specific materials, and follow any FDA-cleared use claims only as the maker states them. Because lubricant touches toys and skin, keep the compatibility warning in view: silicone-based lubricant and silicone toys do not mix unless the maker explicitly allows it. Every product page in this edit repeats that warning where it applies.
The edit
Not sure which family fits? Start with the water-based page if toys are involved, the silicone-based page for endurance, or browse all six below and compare their guides.

pjur
The everyday bottle — pjur Aqua is a natural water-based formula in a generous 3.4 oz size, made for rituals that need no planning. Comfort, simplicity, repeat.

System JO
The generous staple. JO H2O Original is System JO's best-known water-based glide — silky, moisturizing, and gone with a rinse when the evening is over.

Sliquid
A hybrid that lingers longer. Sliquid Organics Silk, 4.2 oz, for rituals that refuse to be rushed.

Sliquid
For evenings that take their time — a silicone-based formula that keeps its glide far longer, so attention never leaves the moment. Magia Privé's pick for seamless, low-interruption intimacy.
pjur
pjur's flagship in glass. INFINITY silicone (1.7 oz) is the house's premium glide — a lasting, silky formula in a medical-quality bottle made in Germany.

System JO
The enduring one. JO Premium Original is System JO's signature silicone glide — a buttery, water-resistant formula first composed in 1999, and still the bottle reached for when the evening has nowhere to be.
